Festive Bachelorette Party Ideas
If you’re the maid of honor or a bridesmaid you are probably thinking about throwing the bachelorette party, but you may be concerned about where to start, especially if its coming up within the next few weeks or days. You know that you want it to be unique, and not your typical run of the mill party. You also know you want it to be a night your bride will always remember, because it will be the last official night-out she will have with her girlfriends. Well, why not throw a themed bachelorette party that goes with the upcoming holidays! Here are some great ideas.
1.) The first idea to a great party would of course be the costumes! Everyone needs to break out their sexiest, most fabulous costumes and get ready for a night on the town. You could even do themed costumes, like have the bride dress up as a little devil, complete with horns and a red veil. All of the bridesmaids and other guests could dress up as angels with black wings. Especially if you have on Halloween, a lot of restaurants will be having costume parties and offering drink specials. You can also bring bags of candy with you and have the guys at the restaurants do dares for candy.
2.) A great idea for November and Thanksgiving, is to have all the bridesmaids and the bride-to-be dress up in Indian headdresses or pilgrim hats. You could incorporate fall colors into your other bachelorette party ideas, maybe by choosing brown or orange t-shirts/tank tops to decorate for all the guests to wear. You can also serve festive finger foods at your party like pumpkin bread, turkey sandwiches, and cranberry flavored shooters.
3.) Christmas time is the best time for a “tis’ the season” bachelorette party. You could have the bride-to-be wear a Santa hat and a t-shirt that says “Future Mrs. Klaus” and the rest of the bridesmaids wear elf hats and t-shirts that say, “Santa’s Little Helpers”. You should incorporate festive colors like red, green, and gold and offer tiny wrapped presents to the guys who are willing to do dare or two for you or play your games. You can also indulge in some spiked eggnog!
4.) What better way to ring in the New Year, than with a New Years Eve themed bachelorette party? Get some mardi-gras beads and some festive New Year’s hats. You can give away party horns, and your beads if people volunteer to play your games. You can also play a game where guys give the bride a dollar to kiss her on the cheek. Be sure to pop open some bubbly and bring in the New Year right.
As you can see, there are so many great ideas to help you celebrate your bachelorette party in a festive manner! Now that you have some starter ideas, you can just do some shopping and some web searching to see what else you can come up with that will help you give your bride one of the best nights of her life.

For any bachelorette party I've ever been invited to, I was expected to pay…whether I was the MOH, a bridesmaid or not…so you shouldn't have to cover the costs all by yourself. All the girls going would split the costs evenly (but
the bride is not expected to pay…all of the girls would split the cost of her share) so going to a male revue or another location…even with a hired car…does not have to break your bank. Or you can do something more simple and have a slumber party as someone else mentioned. If they are her friends the girls should have no problem helping to make it a memorable night without draining anyone's pocketbook
For the bridal shower it is customary for the bridesmaids to split the costs…if there are no other bridesmaids, I would invoke the help of the mother and MIL for low cost ideas…a house to host the shower rather than a reception hall, someone to make a few appetizers, some help making some inexpensive party favors, etc You could include the men, but I wouldn't do it as a lingerie/tool party. She will get so many sets of lingerie that she won't have a place to keep them….and tools can get quite expensive…. and he wouldn't want 4 hammers…and 3 sets of screwdrivers….so I would do something like a kitchen/bar party instead…. If you did include the men, i would also invoke the help of the best man/ushers to help defray the costs.
An idea for a game for the bridal shower is the standard bingo game….you make a 5X5 grid on a sheet of paper with a "free" space in the middle. All of the guests fill in the squares with what gifts they think the bride will receive (towels, blender, iron, etc). As she opens the gifts, the guests mark them off and the first one with a row down, across or diagonally wins a small prize (a picture frame or a candle…).
Another game is the gum game. Ahead of time, you ask the groom all sorts of questions….what was his first car, what is his favorite movie, what is his favorite salad dressing….and then at the shower, you ask the bride to see how well she knows her future husband…..every wrong answers earns her a stick of gum…. if she doesn't know the answers she ends up with a mouthful of gum and can't stop laughing. (If you have a bride/groom shower, you can ask both the bride and groom the same questions ahead of time…let each of them answer at the shower and see who has been paying more attention in their courtship…might make for a fun party
This is a happy time and it shouldn't put you in the poor house.
GOOD LUCK!!!!
